Richie from Sydney here. Have always had a wanderlust. Did the Aussie rite of passage to the UK back in the early 80s. Used London as our travel base to tour Europe with a group of other wanderlusting Aussies and Kiwis. Tho wife and I did once have a caravan and saw a great deal of my state, I do most of my travel by air these days.

A bit before my time. Sounds as tho all your the marbles are still in prime condition going on your witticisms. How have you been coping with the virus lockdowns.
Welcome to the gang Richie148, enjoy here and out in the playground.
I have never had the want or need to travel overseas and still don't to be honest but do love this country called OZ. I hope you enjoy your travels around OZ too if that is what you are planning.
I have been in lock down in North East VIC since mid March this year and have got to really love this area and I tell you that for free. I am thinking of staying put until 2021 when I hope this CV19 mongrel thing has settled enough not to be a problem. I can get back to being a full time GN again. Yehhhh!
Keep Safe out there.

I think a few of the marbles have fallen out of the bag but I still remember where I live & the child-bride hasn't had me committed (yet).
Virus lockdowns aren't too bad if you don't have to go to work, although we would normally be away from the cold during winter and the actions of a few aren't making travelling seem a great idea at the moment. We should be in Darwin at the moment we had a family do all planned (now cancelled) - the kids were going to fly up from all over, booked and paid for flights and accommodations (a lot of forfeited monies). We are definitely lucky to be in this Country, at least the majority seem to follow the rules.
Looking forward to being back out on the road, sitting around a camp-fire.

My family had holiday plans ruined also due to this virus. My brother and wife planned going to Hamilton Island for some R&R in April and my son and some friends were going to take a campervan up to the Territory for a few weeks. That throws a memory back into my mind of my time spent in England. A group of us hired a Kombi van and planned three weeks travelling around. The Big End went after three days and a great time was ruined.. most of us ended up hitching back to London.
Thanks for welcome Dougwe. I have visited all states and territories over the years. My last being Tassie last year. Based myself in Hobart and a mate, I and his wife traveled from there. Tassie is so small we saw a good deal of the scenic central region in a short time.
