Solar requirements to add portable 12v/240v 20l fridge/freezer To rig

Im thinking of adding a 20l fridge/freezer to supplement my inbuilt 12v/240v compressor fridge in my Sprinter RV.

My power source is mainly solar - 2 x 80 fixed panels on my roof and a 120 portable blanket - or 240v when available. I have one house battery.  Im thinking this wouldnt be adequate to run an additional fridge/freezer.

How can I adapt my current power system to accomodate this please?

I would value the thoughts of other GNs

(Discussions with fellow travellers have given me much food for thought. Engel comes highly recommended but Im told it runs constantly and that a WAECO runs intermittently thus using less power. Your thoughts on this would be helpful too please.)

Have a look at this thread on power usage, it might help with a starting point with energy usage. 20 to 40 litre fridges will have basically the same energy consumption.

Both Engel and Waeco run via thermostats, so both will run intermittently and the power consumption will be depending on the fridge temperature set and the ambient temperature where the fridge is kept.
What are your other power needs?
Cheers,
Peter

As said above.

Re the actual fridge, buy the brand that fits the space.

I will add how much fridge capacity do you really need. Our needs are fresh veggies, yoghurt, cheese, a few beers, we are not big meat eaters, We use powered milk to save fridge space.

I have updated the above thread with a test I did ages ago freezing 10.5kg of ice.
