Electric pump starting for a few seconds then stopping was the first sign of trouble. Found water dripping from the gas hot water unit.
The pipe had 2 tiny splits let out a very fine spry of water. First instinct was to replace the pipe, but one end went into a hole which led to the cavity under the washing machine.
Remove inside panel to find all the plumbing was covered with some sticky stuff and conduit. It seems that to rectify the problem I will need to remove the water heater then remove all the plumbing and replace. (As a temporary measure have replaced the faulty section that is accessable using 2 brass cable joiners)
The van is 4 years old and have been told that there was a batch of faulty piping a few years ago causing the splitting problem.
My concern now is the when the hidden pipe splits water will leak into the cavity under the washing machine. Just another of the ongoing problems with this van. The dealer that sold this van has a lot of nasty google reviews (Most with the same issues that I have had/are having).
How do I find someone I can trust to do this work. In 4 years I have only found one trustworthy repairer and is way too far from us now.

I would do what you can do, at the very least create a paper trail (use physical letters, it works better) & then at least create administration for them.
I do this all the time, I mostly have got nothing out of it but I can be very irritating & cost them money.
The most time consuming one I did was point out every mistake in drawings on a development application next to our building.
I got feedback through other people that I was really p_ssing off the architect. Well they were p_ssing me off with endless bag loads of lies.
I am sick to death of crap products & service so I will do my level best to reciprocate.

I appreciate it's four years but Oz consumer law is somewhat open-ended. It may be worth talking with the ACCC?
