new cooktop and grill

We have just found out our cook top  has no safety shut off on it, found out the other day when Les closed lid with out turning gas off

Just been on to manufacturer and they told me its older than Adam ,and it did not get fitted with one and cant be fitted with one, i was told any cook top before 2011 did not need safety cut off, that's not to say some  were fitted

So to all cooks out there what is a reasonable priced cook top grill combo

Hi Cowboy,
That sounds like a load of bunkum to me as the stove top/grill in our 2005 Jayco Eagle had a safety cutout on the glass lid. We used to have some problems with the clip holding it back far enough to keep the gas on!

Do you know the brand of the unit in your van? Unfortunately a lot of these have the model numbers on the back, at the side of the grill area. Jayco tends to use Sphere equipment, other brands may use the same.
