Swift Water Heater Annode

I have a Swift gas/electric water heater in my van. The tanks in these Swift units are a stainless steel and do not have an annode in them.

What they have instead is a  length of aluminium  tube that slips over a plastic holder and slides in the inlet line. (Swift told me it was for bacterial use???)

These tubes slowly corrode away and get caked in a calcium like deposit buildup at the corrode points.

From memory, Swift charge about $30.00 plus post for a replacement tube and plastic holder. So for a couple of dollars I bought a length of the right sized  tube and cut a piece off

every 6 months and replace the old one. It cost just cents to do this.

The attached photo shows the aluminium tube after a quick scrub with a wire brush. The tube is very intact just with a few pittings.

I don't  see any reason why one couldn't just reuse the old tube after a quick clean. It would take many years for the aluminium tube to corrode away.

Any thoughts?

Joe.

I find my Swift heater will not run if it's windy. Does anyone else have that issue?

I'd suggest it is a flow diffuser so reduce turbulence so cold water doesn't mix with the hot watet

Hi Joe,

Can you please advise on Swift's email or Web address please, I haven't pull my Anode out yet.

When I looked up the replacement anode some here had photo's of where it's located which was great, but when I went to buy it the Web sent me to Jenka Group very flashy site BUT.

I ordered one from Jenka Group on the 30th of October 2020, they don't return calls or emails disbelief on the whereabouts of my order.

So I'll need a new supplier if they don't come through now I lodge a issue with PayPal so lets see.

Hi Ram Man.

Sorry for the delay.

I just saw your post.

I have a number from a couple years ago for Swift. I hope it is still current.
