Thank you Craig ,we have tried that but it just disappears into a sheath of wires and we cant seem to find the actual switch I think its a job for the auto electrician .

Pick up the wire colour code at the reversing light then check the switches on the box and see if you can match the colours ,BUT there may not be a switch at all it may be triggered at the ecu . can i ask why you want to find it ?

Hi Marydoll

When you find what the problem was, and where the reversing switch is, would you mind letting us all know, as it may help others in the future

I assume that you have checked the fuses

Looks like there is a switch on the side of the gearbox - here is a link to a new one and what it looks like:

 Hi marydoll smile

A bit more information might help. Does the 2012 BT50 have a manual transmission or an automatic.

How long has the fault been known.

Hi marydoll,
Have you asked on the Mazda BT50 forum?
I've had some great help on the Isuzu & Nissan Patrol forums in the past.

Thanks ! Probable that the auto has no switch and the reversing lights are switched by the ECU. So the problem could be caused by a faulty relay. Look for that !

Have you put a LED globe in. They often are a problem with canbus.
