SJS3000 Jump Starter

Hi Guys & Gals, I'm a newbie and setting up for our first trip with our new van and 2018 V8 Diesel Land Cruiser. Looking at getting a jump starter pack (it's a mine field full of'em).  Someone recommended the SJS3000 Pro Series Personal Jump stater.  Has any one had experience (or have knowledge of) with this unit (good, bad or indifferent), will appreciate your comments.  We have a lot to learn about everything caravanning.

Hi John....whilst I have no experience with what you are looking to buy,I have had faultless service from my Noco GB70 Lithium pack.Starts my V8 Cruiser from a dead-flat battery,no worries, and I've also started excavators, backhoes, cranes etc with never a problem.Bit cheaper than what you're looking at,but not as powerful either! Good luck with your search.Cheers

Welcome to the gang John, enjoy here and out in the playground.

I Have a similar but is a ARB flavour. Has started a few stranded travellers but haven't had to get myself out if trouble yet. Touch wood.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Another option.

My auxiliary battery is 4 x 26Ah, that's what I had to use to fit in various places around the car.

The bonus of this setup is I can use it to jumpstart myself or others. 360amps for 5 minutes or 1080amps 5 seconds.

It is always charged via DC-DC from the car or solar.

My car uses 238amps according to clamp meter, 2.0L petrol.

Have wired in 175 Anderson plugs, so just have to connect a lead between the two, which can be used for other cars & can be used as an extra extension lead for the solar panels if desperate (a bit overkill).

Also use the setup to run 3 ARB compressors for fast inflating of tyres, up to 100amps.

Now Yobar, that would be bordering on a load of crap, totally, a Toyota needing a jump start.

How old are you, mush be coming up to 95/96.

As long as it be used for several jumps of your vehicle between charges, any jump starter should be ok. They typically have power outlets and lights so as long as it has a monitor of some kind (and you use it) you can't go wrong and drain it unexpectedly. If you can recharge it on the road, even better. I have come to like the NOCO range of products so when/if mine dies, I'll certainly be looking that direction.

I have a SJS1500 and it works on diesels motors up to 4.2 litre,  cost more than some other makes.

Remember if you pay peanuts you only get monkeys.

Thank you so much guys, at least I now know I'm on the track to somewhere. May be a bit of an overkill but hopefully it'll serve me well when I need it.

Thanks again and I'm sure you'll hear from me again.

Better spending your money on replacing your starter batteries every 3 years. This prevents premature starter motor failure.
Repairing a starter motor on an LC200 without spending $1 on the starter motor will cost you between $1,500 and $1,800 plus gaskets, and then the price to repair or replace the starter motor on top of that.
Buying a jump starter instead of spending money on smart preventtitive maintainence is not at all smart practise.
