Hi all. I am recovering from Sepsis. It started out as a sore shoulder; just thought I pulled a muscl. Got worse, saw the doc, got even worse and my wife insisted on trip to hospital. They took one look at me and threw me in a bed. I crashed, blood pressure through the roof, worst unrelenting pain Ive ever had, crash trollY and medical emergency. Woke up 3 days later. On massive antibiotic.
i was luck to live. People end up as quad amputees with this disease. I was so lucky. However the guy in the next bed in the ward died of the same thing. I was fairly strong and have a strong heart. I suffered some liver damage but it is now fully recovered. I was in hospital for 2 weeks then visits from Hopital in the Home to change my antibiotic drip every day for 6 weeks. Im now on oral antibiotics 4 times a day till the end of January. I can barely make it to the letter box but getting stronger every day. CT scans and blood tests still to come.
there was an ABC. On Australian story that I would urge everyone to see. This disease is a killer and if you get it you literally have hours to save your life and limbs. I had no indication such as sore throat until Agony a finally a rash on the day I collapsed.
make yourself aware of the symptoms because the bacteria is around us everywhere. I had no infected cuts or any other visible indicator.
