Hi, I've checked all previous posts but, my D2 ( only been used for at the most 6 hours) stopped working and now won't start, blows white smoke. I've replaced the glow plug, glow plug screen, cleaned the filter on the pump and replaced the inline fuel filter as well. I've stripped it completely down and no carbon, vent to glow plug good. Drained the diesel and have even tried it on kero... Power at the heater ( I spiked into the lume) was 13.4 volt and when trying to start dropped down to 12.9 volt... at the glow plug which "you" can only test when trying to start is 5.6 volts. So far no caravan dealer or Eberspacher maintenance dealers can tell me what voltage should be at the glow plug.. any ideas? And is there a caravan maintenance outlet on the Sunshine Coast that has the equipment to plug into it, the fault code is only coming up Err, no code. Everyone I've spoken to say bring the van in and we'll have a look but they don't have a computer to fault find..

Not the Sunshine Coast but give Caboolture Caravan Repairs a call On 07 54951966. I think they are Eberspacher service agents and they are normally very good at everything they do. We have used them for various caravan services/repairs over the years and always been well satisfied.
Regards,
Ian

HI, yes exhaust and inlet disconnected, they were the first things I did, then changed fuel, then new glow plug screen, then new glow plug, then pulled whole unit apart checked air inlet for glow plug and no carbon in chamber ( like brand new).

Blows white smoke, to me its an ignition problem since inlet has been disconnected.
When I had a similar problem and under advice from a Heater Org, I tested out the glow plug and firing circuit. In the rebuild I had earthed a wire or open circuit a wire.

You could have a look at this group. It is for the Chinese knockoff diesel heaters and I have read of similar issues here. www.facebook.com/groups/146837062640024
Dieselheat.com.au they are fabulous and have a very good troubleshooting page. You can call them and they are helpful and polite. They will talk you through everything.
I cant really help, but dont lose heart. Our D2 bought in 2003 ($1800) has run in a boat for 6 years, a caravan for 6 years, and a motorhome for 5 years, and has received no maintenance and suffered no faults. I hope yours will be the same when you get it going...
