Risk of mosquito-borne Kunjin and Murray Valley encephalitis viruses in South Australia

There is currently a higher risk of mosquito-borne Kunjin and Murray Valley encephalitis viruses in South Australia, particularly in regions along the River Murray.
This warning comes after a sentinel chicken based at Meningie tested positive for these diseases during routine monitoring. There is no vaccine and no cure for these potentially deadly diseases so its important to #FightTheBite of mosquitoes and protect yourself.
For more info on how to fight the bite and symptoms of these diseases visit: www.sahealth.sa.gov.au/FightTheBite
