The only steam powered winch in Australia with the engine,spars and cables still rigged.

Built by the Washington Iron Works in Seattle USA. Imported to Australia in the 1920s,it is on the Bentley High Plains road Victoria.

Would have been some weird noises, train like? from the boiler, gawd almighty moans and groans from cables and drums, plus someone yelling " get some grease on that bit Boy? "
