Charging an IPhone from the battery box?

Before I try it, would like to know from those who know, can I charge my iPhone directly from the USB outlet on my battery box.  My concern is that the voltage reading on the battery is around 13-13.5V.   I will be doing lots of free camping and will not have access to 240v and dont want to run the car simply to charge the phone

Yes you can, that is what the USB outlets are designed for.

As rgren2 above has already said, yes you can, as that is what the USB outlet is for

I charge both out normal and IPhone, from the 12 volt house batteries, through a ciggy socket, and usb charger

The USB outlet will 'internally' convert your battery voltage of nominal 12V to the USB standard of 5V so no problem there. However, not all USB sockets are created equal. Check the max. current rating of the USB outlet (it should be written on it) because if it is between 0.5-1.0A your phone will charge quite slowly and a 2.1A one would be better.
