Some 20 years ago I set up a 'T' level on my A frame & synced it with a large spirit level placed at my 3 way fridge.

Which reminds me .. about time that I checked to see if it's still true. I'll put it on the list.

Unless the chassis has warped - and both bubbles still at top Physics say it must still be the same, so save the time and just use it for another beer.

The T level mounted on the drawbar at $6 beats a Savvy level at $300 every time and you have two hands free to adjust the legs or move the tug. Sound like a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.

That is how I set up my second hand caravan, as the original "T" spirit level was level with the drawbar, but out with the fridge

After removing the old "T" spirit level, I put plenty of silicone ender the new "T" level, to make it level with the 3 way fridge

You know it is almost inconceivable that any sane person would pay that much for an electronic gismo instead of a simple T level for peanuts. indeed it is probable it will soon fail anyway as most of the electronics come from 'you know where' hmm but the level might last a lifetime. Mine have !

The obsession with electronic solutions to problems that do not exist, as Alan said, is just 'come in spinner' for over capitalised newbies IMHO, eg also phone apps for chargers and batteries and similar !! wink

I am a firm believer of the KISS principle and in keeping things cheap. I always endeavour to park up reasonably laterally level first so that I'm not in any danger of rolling out of bed in the night. To level the van longitudinally, I use a $3 spirit level (cheap from a big box store). Place the spirit level on the A-frame and spin the jockey wheel handle till van is level, then spin the spirit level 180 degrees to average out the bubble misalignment. Job done in seconds.

Another cheap solution is to install a free level app in your smart phone.

Looks like you all agree. Buy a good bubble machine and spend the other $300 on 6 slabs of beer. LOL.

My Princess is over the moon, but not too keen on the alternative, thinks I drink enough without your encouragement.

I'm happily convinced. 6 slabs, and /or, 7 bottles of rum or whisky. Look out happy out happy hour.

We have the Savvy Level and it works perfectly. I can easily tell the driver if we are not level side to side as we are driving into the spot so we can put a levelling wedge under a wheel straight away. Then after the car is unhitched it is a very easy matter to wind the jockey wheel down to the correct level front to back. The sensor is wired to the 12V batteries so no separate batteries to run out. No squinting at bubbles. The app is very clear and easy to read and accurate (see photo below). At night you don't have to shine torches on a bubble level you just open the app as usual and it graphically and numerically indicates the level of the caravan both front to back and side to side.

This is our spirit Level, I pulled it out of a level. Also use it on the camera as the typical camera levels are less accurate.

But ive noticed the chassis sometimes twists. So also have a small 3" long level i carry to check in a few spots

Only your one is a little more up market to a similar one I bought several years ago. Fits into the drawer, just inside the door. Was cheap, easy to use on the floor, across the van, then down the length. Doesn't get cooked in tropical sun, walked on. Just right!

Small levels are notoriously inaccurate .as they only level the actual short piece they sit on . If a builder turned up to do your house brickwork or foundations and used one of these silly little plastic things what would you say!! Well, as your Aussies probably not much . Ha Ha .
I at least use a 1.2m level ,of course having been `in the trade` for allmost 50 yrs i do have a few lying around . Could use the laser level of course but that`s maybe taking things too far .lol.

I have done that many times myself Barry and as you, all good. Sometimes I find that too easy so.....

..... I also have a 'T Level' on the Aframe but have also double checked with a hand spirit Level, on the floor just inside door of teepee. I find the hand one a little better. It usually lives on the front seat of the Collie.
