I travelled GC to Rocky return (Bruce Hwy) in the last 7 days. Traffic wasn't especially heavy north of Gympie. Camps and rest areas were pretty full but not noticeably more than usual really. Same with servos and the usual highway stops that offer food and drink. I'm sure there are more people travelling but it's a busy time of year anyway.

I see more caravans on the road

There will be many who usually go on overseas holidays, seeing a bit of Australia

 Gladstone to Ingham mate!!!   I dont mind because at least I can see improvements being made to the Bruce goat track .  A year or two and it will be a pleasure to drive.

If you're northbound on North West Coastal Highway in WA..., YES ! many, many more vans.., especially the larger "Gin Palace" van's. It seems every man/woman and their happy little dog's are on the NWCH right now. There's also many big 4WD rigs towing even larger boats. Add into that mix, the B doubles and Road Trains..., of course patience and good judgment are always required. Most vehicles are well driven...., excepting when there's a bunch up(what're they doing? playing 'Convoy' to each other over their UHF's ?) Daylight travel is always recommended as there's now 'increasing' amounts of stock on roads.., especially after Geraldton.., and even more again either side of Carnarvon. Wildlife and stock are grazing on the verges because there's been of lot's of rain..., and still more is coming(Carnarvon to Minilya may have temporary and localised flooding after today). Currently, all the rivers below Minilya have water in them and some floodways as well..., NWCH hasn't seen this much water over such an extended area and of time for a long while. Oh yeah and if you're travelling with a van up that-away it will pay to get to the designated rest area's as early as possible because the get checkers very early in the arvo..., all bunched up around the long drop dunny's..., you see, mum doesn't like to walk too far !
Reckon it might be different if/when Bali is open for business again !

lots more here in Adelaide that i have noticed since covid hit our shores .........we cant go no place much so vanning is the big thing

Probably just the usual number coming North for the Winter.  Happens every year normally, unless Covid intervenes.

I just hate cold weather.  We in Brissy South Side had a mild taste this morning.  I woke up to drizzly rain, westerly wind gusts and temperature almost as low as 10 degrees, would you believe.

Made a quick scramble for my Huski coat & Ugg boots.  Closed all the doors & windows and got out the videos of Qld defeating NSW in the State Of Origin RL. (I only retain recording of when the goodies .. Qld... win).  I'll settle in for the day in the media room, starting with a mug of Bundy reinforced Chai..  Perhaps a bottle of port even.  I've got the gloves & beanie on standby for when it gets below 10.  Might even turn the AC onto heat.  

No weather for caravanning, particularly in Victoria IMHO.

edit ....  If I do get brave enough to venture outside, I have got the choice of my antique Gabardine full length PMG coat or the full length Stockman's Dry as a Bone!!!!  Both set up by the door with a pair of Gum Boots.   We're hardy soles up here in Qld.

Currently in Exmouth, the place is sold out, backpackers camped on site next to us. Broome a few weeks ago for 2 weeks, mosquitoes by the millions, day and night. The NW is full, overflowing, overnighted at Nanutarra. a couple of weeks ago and it was full.never seen so many younger couples at parks with babies, young kids everywhere. Currently at Ningaloo caravan park with must be 400? other vans, tents, camper vans, backpackers galore, we were at Tom Price prior, just full, everyday. Would have been better idea to stay home and sit this one out..
