Great collection, it's shame they didn't have dash cams back in my early days of traveling, in Perth for about 6 month in the early 80's and I witnessed some crazy and horrifying accidents, I must have seen one almost every week.
It would be excellent if those IDIOTS overtaking on double lines were reported to the police and charged accordingly. Surely these videos would be sufficient to charge them. If they did it the overtaking then (and they did), they would probably still be doing it now, and I don't want to meet them whilst I am coming the other way.
Has anyone noticed the Toyota ad on TV during the Olympics? It shows a large Semi trailer overtaking a car (presumably a Toyota) ON A DOUBLE LINE WITH A BLIND CURVE AHEAD. OK - maybe it was a closed road when they filmed it, but what message does that send to people, particularly young drivers? I have been run off the road trying to avoid an oncoming car which was overtaking on a blind corner. It is not funny. Unbroken lines are put down on the road for a reason. You may not see the reason at the time, but it is unsafe to cross those lines, so don't do it. Simple.

Absolutely agree erad, Any evidence (especially photo or video/dash cam) of breaches should be reported. Those who do not are clearly part of the problem.
Our personal experience some time back. We were driving south about 100 klms from Darwin and were overtaken by a Government plated vehicle. It was well over the double white lines, in addition we were behind a road train, it was on a bend so this particular idiot could not have possibly seen what was coming towards him (and no, it was not an emergency or Police vehicle). We passed the film onto the Darwin police. We were contacted by the police sometime after and advised appropriate action had been taken against the driver.
Please do not be part of the problem and do the right thing.
Stay safe,
Cheers

I have run Dash Cams for years in my cars , 4wds and on my motorbike some of the things I have filmed are quite horrendous , especially when I'm on the bike .
Even the cheap Dash Cams can be very good . I have recently got 2 Garmin Drive Assist 51 GPS with built in Dash Cam they are very good , not the cheapest at about $450 , maybe less if you shop around but you get a good GPS and a Dash Cam all in one , very easy to transfer to another car in needed anyone thinking of getting a Dash Cam have a look at one online
I have some videos on YouTube I might link to later .
As for taking Video to Police my brother inlaw works for a big truck transport company he has taken plenty of dash cam video of ppl doing stupid things to Police they usually ask was anyone injured if no they are not interested even if there has been a crash

Some of the idiot stuff I have seen in my 40 years of driving semis would make anyone lose their hair I reckon. Saw some really stupid acts that ended badly....and except for a cuppla lunatic incidents I unfortunatly encounterd (for the other idiot ) ...I managed to escape them ....and not by good management at times either.
Worse thing about all this is they breed and multiply....and there is no end to it.
Always say that common sense (what little of it there is nowadays) used to end at Katoomba when I was doing line haul to S*itney every night.
And dont get me started on tryin to get through Bathurst on race weekend.........
Cheers Keith
