To get those types of channels you need a computer. You also need a wireless modem to connect to the internet. You download those channels via the internet. You need a two-way internet connection so you can choose the programme you wish to watch. You also need a laptop computer with an HDMI output so you can connect it to the TV set.

If you look at the help or FAQ for streaming sites you can usually get a list of which devices are compatible with the service. For example ...

Nine Now - Ways to Watch

There are numerous devices that will do the job. I use an Amazon Fire TV Lite ($59 from Amazon). Since I bought mine they introduced a 4K model for $99 (higher resolution). Designed for Amazon Prime Video, these devices are capable of viewing a lot more sources. Apart from Seven Plus and Nine Now, I have ABC iView and SBS On Demand. Also Netflix, Stan, Paramount etc.

The device is small (it's very small remote is larger) and runs on USB power, with an HDMI output for the TV. It needs to be connected to Wifi for the content.

But maybe your TV has the capability. I haven't used a smart TV but would expect if it is designed for Australia you should be able to install apps to watch the content you want.

Burgo, what model number and software series number ? Kogan models (like all TVs) are constantly changing and it's easier to help if we know this information. If it's a recent purchase, then it probably has Freeview and associated services already installed but you definitely should be able to download and install the needed apps if not. Check you have internet access and check TV setup uses the type if internet connection you're using (4G/WiFi/cabled - though this may not matter). You DO NOT require a computer and cable between computer & TV, it's a Smart TV.

Most smart tvs available now will have the apps to watch all our domestic channel freeview stations.

Your tv will need the ability to connect to your internet.
If you dont have a tv that is capable of this you can get a device called Chromecast and when this is powered up and plugged into a HDMI port on your tv you can then stream any channel from a computer, a tablet, or even your smart phone.
Just install the app of the channel tou want to watch and stream the program through Chromecast direct to tour TV..

Another option is to get a cable that will go from your device to the tv HDMI port and connect your phone, ipad etc direct to your tv.
There are some apps that wont let you do it this way. KAYO is one of them. STAN is another. Funny because on our tv you can do it with Netflix.

Just re read the ops post and you will need a capable tv if you cant download the apps to any of your devices.
