Supreme mattress with bolster

Hi grey nomads,

This is my first post so please bear with me. After a year we .e close to getting our new Supreme Classic Tourer. We have ordered the Queen with bolster. First question at only 100mm any experince with, and suggestions for toppers? Second, sheets, will need customised but top sheet attached to bottom or separate. We do prefer a top sheet not just doona. Thanks in anticipation. Jo smile

Welcome to GN's Gallavanting. Caravan mattresses are not standard size double, queen or singles. All fitted sheets need to be resized. We use pure wool (sheepskin) mattress toppers made to order, expensive but worth it. Cooler in summer warmer in winter.

Thanks for responding Possum3. Where do you order the lambs wool topper from?

We have had an innerspring van Queen sized rounded end mattress with bolster length extender since new in 1999.  Smaller than regular queen sized mattresses. After the first trip we fitted a egg crate foam cover to make it less firm.

Over that goes a lambs wool mattress protector & a fitted bottom sheet ..  Queen size and of course too big, but it works.  On top is a normal queen top sheet.  The extra size is good as is the down filled doona.  I carry an extra doona when traveling in autumn or (rarely) in winter.  Don't use it very often though.

Hi @Cupie,
Thanks for the recommendations, we don't want to spend heaps on customised bedding if not needed. Might invest in an eggshell foam to start and use our normal sheets to see what works. We have an old lambs wool topper that we could adopt as well. Lots of different doonas including our super duck down. Thanks again. Gallavanting

We just usually retire bedding from our master bed at home when SWMBO decides to re do the décor.  It's a much larger queen than the one in the van but it works.

Carry just two sets of sheets & pillow cases.  ie the set in use & one spare set.
