Hi, we are planning a trip in April/May 2022 from NSW and into Victoria, down the Alpine Way (thought it would be a little better than coming up), Wilsons Promontory, Melbourne, check out the Great Ocean Road, back up to the Grampians and onto Donald, up to the Murray and travel along the Murray to Moama/Echua.

Just trying to get some info together regarding roads, free/cheap camp sites and good caravan parks.
To view roads, use Google Maps. Activate the Street View function and use that to look up and down the roads on the roads you are curious about. Look at a few points along a road, view particular attentions to bits with tight curves and creek crossings.

The Street View function via Google Maps is very useful. Unfortunately the system won't work through my iPad which I often for the iPad convenience. I have to go to my laptop to use those type of functions in Google Maps. Previously when I was employed we had access to Nearmaps which gave great aerial photo detail, though their main updated information was in denser urban population areas.

That's the problem of getting hooked on the Apple hype. You miss out on a great many things available on the main stream systems. Maybe you now also need an Android tablet for navigation.

Hmm. Not necessarily hooked on Apple. The iPad was a gift some years ago. I use my laptop for more detail.
Presently, I do not need another computer tablet. Maybe better keeping my money for fuel, when we intend taking a drive southwards from QLD in early 2022 (if we are satisfied with how we can manage working through any COVID restrictions). Coastal SA and VIC are in the mix for considered visitations.

My missus just tells me you can get an app for free in the app shop to have street view on your phone or iPad.
