our van is 4 years old it lives outside in all weather. I gave it a wash and then used tyre shine on wheels and checker plate and this other stuff called Fully Slick which is a UV protector and polish on the powder coat Happy with the results, got a lot of Birdsville track ingrained dirt off give it a go.

Yep, giving my van a birthday, after realising two AGM's were not cutting the mustard I wanted a few days of off grid so ripped out the old and 5k later, 4x 100ah lithium, 3000w inverter, Victron dcdc charger, MPPT solar and 15amp victron charger all through an outback marine distribution board with isolating switch and Victron BT smart shunt. Oh well may as well replace all the ceiling lights. Now to replace two 60l water tanks with 3x 75l. And then paint it. Lots of work but satisfying doing it myself.

A nice caravan Birthday present.
We added a 3rd water tank back a few years ago, if I knew now what I know now, My choice would be 2 x 100 litre water tanks and a 140 vinyl portable bladder for the back of the car (in the foot well of the rear seat area).
A number of times I needed to go for a drive to fill drums then transfer the water to the caravan or hook the caravan up and go an obtain water from a tap. We do camp fairly comfortable for 5 days easy.
I probably about to throw a big handful of money at my 2012 model, ie. new hot water service, diesel room heater, have the true line molds around the caravan removed and resealed (where the walls meet the rest of the caravan).
I have not got the patience or want the admin of buying a new caravan and then getting unwanted power points, holes in the side caravan and full of to me who lives very simple unwanted accessories. 22 power points, we use 4 at the most.
Don't know much about the air tank other than it is over 40 years old and old mate next door paid off his first house by fixing up old holdens and ford's spraying them and selling them. Not complaining about my first attempt at spraying. It is an industrial coating and bit heavier than automotive paint. Came up a treat after second coat. And Bob, wouldn't even consider going back. You left Bridgy about the same time I left Barker.
Way back last century I had a van permanently in park. I washed it with Jiff and a good micro cloth . It sure moved the green and grey algae off and bought up the white original paint . I did re-seal the roof joints and gave it a copious amount of paint ! The last think your want in van is leaking water !! Jiff in this case made a good cutting compound, cleaned well for adding Sikoflex sealing compound . Alloy roof .
