Awnings

Hi. I am trying to find out if it is possible to install a domestic house awning to a caravan. I have seen windout retractable awnings cheap on the internet.  Any ideas would be great.

Why wouldn't you put a caravan awning on? They are made to withstand the driving and retract solidly and come in all sizes.

Cheap things on the internet are just that, they aren't made to last. I would prefer to see it and be hands on with something like an awning.

Good Luck Bob

I fitted a $600 house awning on my old Millard about 15 years ago, it had retractable arms, but I added poles and ropes for windy weather, I prefered it to the roll out I had on my later van, but I also prefer, the ones where the awning slides into a channel on the van, much more sturdier in bad weather.

You might like to contact Aussie Traveller in Clontarf. (Brisbane). They supplied a good quality 16 roll out awning for my van,at a very good price. Easy to use, good value. Oasis Court,Clontarf. 1300 663 868. Good luck.Cheers

How long is a piece of string? Which particular awning are you wanting to fit? What type of van are you wanting to fit it on?

Unless we know what you are doing then any advice offered here will not be of much value.
