Chinese diesel heaters

Hi all :)
Great to be a part of this awesome group. Many thanks.
Yep Ive got one of these awesome wee heaters. The issue I have is that after being unhooked for about 6 months, I hooked it back up onto the same battery that ran it last time and it keeps telling me fault code 2 which says over voltage. Dam thing. Its the same battery that I had on it before but now every time I connect it I get this E-2 code.

Any ides as to what I might try or do?

Hi mate and welcome,

I used the following page to get my heater going.

Just be aware that differing types or brands of diesel heaters have different fault codes and different lists for the respective units.

From memory mine was showing fault #2 and it wasnt voltage at all, and I had to prime the fuel back through it to get it to start.

Plenty of info in here on how to diagnose and fault find.

That's a surprising fault and my immediate thought is a fault on the printed circuit board.

However I suggest you "cycle" (remove and replace a few times) all connectors in the system and see what happens.

If that doesn't work then "shake" as best as possible all PCBs you can access.

Otherwise, without component level fault finding, it may be a new heater...?

yes I now have a feeling it may be the fuel needing more priming as just installed a new tank also :)

If it is priming it needs to get going, rather than switch it on and off many times you may apply a light air pressure at the tank filler and prime the supply by disconnecting the fuel line at the heater.
When it has fuel up to the heater then just follow the instruction.
If you prime it by switching it on and off it only pushes about 1/2 a teaspoon of diesel per switching if you are lucky.

It has been a while since I did mine but from memory it fired up in 2 or 3 goes after priming.
