E - 2 error on small deisel heater

20221222_113926.jpg20221222_113937.jpg

Hi all, installed a wee one of these. Install went well, all worked perfectly. Was unplugged etc for about 4 months. Re set a new tank, primed an all that. even bleed the lines and redid.
Still wont start. All comes up good on the screen ready to go. Prime and hit start, it goes to start, but just slows down and stops with the error

Bleed fuel line and prime with Kerosine or Shellite.

NOT SHELITE!

Shelite is refined to a higher octane than petrol I believe and may explode if pumped into a diesel heater.

On my list E02 is over voltage but on others I think it may be "No flame" which, as Possum writes, usually means you need to bleed the diesel line.

Here is a list of error codes I have. Not sure where I got them from.

Here's another, different, list:

Error codes

The list posted by AreWeLost applies to my diesel heater too but an over-voltage fault would be very unusual on a caravan/motorhome installation and probably the result of a hardware fault on the heater's PCB.

Is that pump mounted flat on the floor? It needs to be mounted at approx.30 degree angle, with input feed from the tank at the bottom and output to heater at the top. This so any air bubbles in the line do not collect in the pump and are pushed through the pump.

Was it you that already asked this question?

When the power is at the pump is there fuel coming out of the pump?

If there is fuel going to the heater and the pump and the glow plug has power then the glow plug is probably dirty or stuffed.

As quoted above, the pump must be fitted at an angle.

 Hi Ivan,

The fuel pumps will almost work at any angle but the reference to the angle is mainly to aid in total lubrication and longevity to the pump.

Once when I was experiencing heater starting problems, I laid the pump flat on the ground and the pump ran the heater for a hour before I was convinced I had solved the our heater problems and then fitted the pump at a slight angle to the caravan chassis permanently.
