If you can afford it Lithium batteries, and maybe 200 watt portable solar panels min., or if you can carry the extra weight, AGM or gel batteries. But for either batts/lithium., you will need at least 200ah.You could go with a portable 2way fridge, to make it a bit cheaper, and rip your 3 way out, that would help you with the weight if using gel/agm. I prefer gel over all of them.

I just got the avan but dislike 3ways and would like to replace with a compressor fridge
any input would be appreciated
Yes we replaced ours about five years ago. The 3 way absorption RM2350 has the same recess as the
Recess Required: 521mm (W) x 756mm (H) x 520mm (D)
Weight: 29 kg
Dometic CRX110
I think the Recess for the Compressor fridge is about the same. Ours went in with very slight adjustment to the recess sides. I mean like just shaving a bit off and it slid in.
But do your homework.
We have two x 100 Amp H batteries. Solar Panels and mostly free camp.

I put in the Dometic 110 L fridge, 200 w panel, an enerdrive DC DC charger and 100 ah lithium battery when the 3 way fridge still played after being fixed. It works so brilliantly the only time I connected to the vehicle was to test the DC DC charger. The fridge took a little bit of fiddling with the help of friend to get into the door of the 2010 cruise liner. Getting the near dead original battery out was difficult but no problem with lithium of half the weight.
