Just wondering about the road conditions between Bourke and Tibooburra if anyone has traveled it lately.

Are you taking the long way over bitumen or the "Cut Line"? topwiretraveller.com/the-cut-line-bourke-wanaaring-tibooburra/

We did it in 2018 via cut line, before the rains and floods. Nissan GU Patrol and 6.3 Evernew there were some rough and dusty bits, not being in any hurry it was very typical drive through that sort of country.

I am aware that it was severely damaged in the 2022 floods - but I think the Shire has got it back into a state fit for travel.

Thanks for the reply. We would like to do the Cut line if possible. We have 4WDs but are towing road vans.

Service vehicles paying particular attention to suspensions and tyres - Take it slow on the rough bits, ensure you have sufficient fuel and water to allow for unintended delays/detours. UHF/VHF on vehicles a must.

A PLB may be a good accessory to have on board if solo travelling.
