Anybody having trouble downloading the latest update.
Opening the app I get a notice advising of a new update, tells you to update now, I click on update now and it takes you to the W/C app, press open and it takes you back to update notice
Yup, I've gotten dizzy from being sent in a loop. I deleted the app as I thought the problem was in my phone, and paid for a new one. As soon as the new one was downloaded it told me to update that app, and then the loop started all over again.
I sent a query to Wiki but after Googling the problem I suspect I won't be getting an answer in the near future as other people are experiencing a similar problem.
I'm having the same 'looping' problem from the Apple App Store.
I suspect the problem is that not everyone gets the update in their app store at the same time, that the update takes a while to 'propogate'.
In my app store it only offers the option to 'OPEN', not to UPDATE - which as describes loops me back to Wikicamps & the 'Update notice.
The version of Wikicamps in my App Store is V4.8.8 (released 6 months ago) sooo.... I think it's not a Wikicamps issue, but rather an Apple Issue, & we just need to be patient & wait for the new version to arrive before trying to update.
Well I just got a message from Micah at wikicamps, whom said it was my operating system that was the problem, and that I should download windows 11 as that was what the update was designed for. But in answer to that, I do not have enough memory to download 11, and will not be buying a new computer so no more cyclemonkey. If I am lucky maybe able to use it, but as it is, any comment I make on there is not showing up on the page, so I reckon this update will take 12 months to work out, and after awhile maybe wikicamps disappears.
Verified my Samsung Galaxy Notepad. Seems OK until you want to have a look at a camping spot or read chat. Favourites all gone. Maybe it will come good overnight.
Yes.
Updated mine on 3 devices
I'm so lucky because it gave me a new name, lost about 60% of my trips and lost all of my favourites
That's a trifecta I didn't make a bet on
I sent an eMail as I had issues trying to review my account, mainly cos some fool forgot his password.
Their automated eMail sending of a reset code did not work, so I eMailed today.
I expect a response, but their initial reply to give me a job number did have some information that suggested some of the timing and information issues could be due to the amount of information trying to load due to everyone trying at once, and after the initial onslaught, things should improve as data is finally sorted, and demand eases somewhat.
I guess Ill just give them a bit of time.
