East coast from Sydney to Qld border

Hi all

We are from Adelaide and we are just starting to plan a big trip to the East  Coast. We plan to head just north of Sydney and then make our way up the coast. We will have approx. 6 weeks maybe a little longer if weather is good to travel along the coast. We plan to go in September/October next year.  We hope to stay 4 or 5 nights before moving on to the next spot and slowly make our way up the coast. We haven't travelled that part of Aust. before and we would like some tips on the best caravan parks to stay in as regards to position and scenery. We prefer smallish parks but must have power available and cater for 2 very well behaved poodles.  If you have any "must do" activities on our trip, we would also welcome any suggestions. In fact, any tips would be VERY welcome!

Many thanks, Bridget and Rob

Can't comment on caravan parks but have gone the 3 main routes to Queensland & also via Bourke. Lots of very different things to see on each route. So if returning that way, come back a different route.

P.S. Biggest poodle I grew up with, was black, 45kg, not an ounce of fat on him & 85cm at the shoulder putting his head down on the dining room table with eyes scanning the situation. Cutting his nails was fun (a challenge) & removing hair from ears.

Caravan parks near Sydney are scarce. You just need to look around.
Central Coast. A bit annoying to get in there but nice. Lots to choose from, we
spent sometime at Toowoon Bay as well as Dunleith C/P which is in The Entrance,
just north of Toowoon Bay.
No information on the Newcastle/Hunter as we did not stay there.
Going north, Foster Tuncurry, Port Macquarie. Plenty to choose from, comes down
to availability and price. Also Lake Cathie.
Coffs Harbour. C/P in town but also Sapphire Beach, Moonee Beach & Emerald Beach.
Yamba and surrounds. Prawn farms in Yamba.
Ballina - couple of C/P in town as well as inland options such as Lismore & Casino.
Byron Bay. Has become rather pricey.

All the best in your travels and stay safe.

Bridget & Rob: Thanks for taking the time and giving us this information. No one else bothered.
That's ok, you're welcome.

Obviously wasted my time replying. All the info you need is available on Google.

 Yep  ..

We travel that route often & have lots of knowledge of CPs even down to site level .... but the OP hasn't bothered to comment on the responses or even thank you for your effort.

So I won't bother going to all the trouble of responding.

As new members they may not be aware of the usual? practice of monitoring requests for advice & responding with thanks etc.

Cupie, surely you don't need to be a Harvard graduate to check if somebody
has replied to your question. Why ask it in the first place. Me thinks this is a scam
as ALL this information is available at you're finger tips, be it Google or various
Tourist Information Centres in various towns.
