Avan Aliner roof

Hi, anyone have a solution to lift inner side panels of an Avan Aliner camper? I'm vertically challenged, aka a shortie, & travel on my own.

I have seen a length of 4x2 timber used to lift the roof sections on YouTube. Perhaps on YouTube you'll find similar ideas for walls. Tony

It should be an easy job for the local men's shed to make a lever that would clip on to wall that could be pushed down rather than lifting = Wander down to your local Men's shed and have a yarn, normally the guys are looking for worthwhile projects.

I'm probably average height, well at least in my generation, but getting shorter with age. Seems to be one of those inverse square law issues!

You would not believe the number of stools, step ladders we have around the house to reach various repair jobs. Even a Mote 3 stage extension ladder I modified to 4 stage ladder with 3:1 pulley to lift upper sections to get up a few mm higher (still less than the original 42 foot maximum design height).

Not familiar in any stretch of the imagination for an Avan. Maybe some folding steps to reach the the problem may help.

You are referring to lifting the the Avan Walls and not the roof sections.

People  have problems  raising the the roof sections.  This can be solved with mechanical aids.  Winch, lever, or ratchet lifter types. One type  made by Graeme Peck.

The walls are usually fairly easy to raise for most people.

If you know any other Avanners it might be worth seeing how they do it.  Join you local Avan club state group maybe !

We have helped a few (all ladies) who have had difficulties raising the walls,  usually because it is their age and stature they struggle with the weight.

Also  had success with some  just by getting them to use slightly different body positioning and lifting technique.
