12v television reception interference

Hi all.

My problem is quite puzzling. While watching our 12v TV, if my partner switches her bedside 12v fan on (plugged into her 12v bedside socket), reception is lost. If plugged into ANY 12v socket, the result is the same. My 12v fan (plugged into my 12v bedside socket) does not interfere with reception, but if I plug it into any other 12v socket, reception is lost. We have a separate 12v table fan and when plugged into any 12v socket and switched on, reception is lost.
Has anyone else experienced this sort of problem? I would be grateful for any help in resolving this issue. Cheers.

!2 volt fans are prone to interfere with TV signals.

Change fans to one with internal battery storage is easiest way to address the issue - See camping fans at Anaconda. We have an Oz-Trail box fan, 12 & 240V inbuilt battery, with LED lighting.

Thanks Possum3. I have exhausted al my local auto electricians and tv reception gurus who are stumped !! I have now resorted to rechargeable fans similar to your suggestion. Thanks for your input. Cheers.

When you say reception is lost I'm assuming that the TV is still powered up and that static replaces the TV signal.
If that is so you should check out the antenna, it may have a masthead amplifier and when plugging in your fan is effecting the mast head amp.
