"Smart Charge" Battery Charger

Hello Techies,

I first searched and could not find anything on this model charger online or on this forum. I was looking for the online manual for an explanation.

It came with the caravan. The pic you see is from the net but my exact model is BC-12-302024-07-18 18_15_27-2024_07_18_18_14_21_2005_Supreme_Territory_6.4m_21ft_Caravan_Mozilla_Firefox.png.pngA

The query here is the charger has two settings "Gel and Flooded" but the batteries are AGM

Which setting should I set charger to for the AGM batteries?

Is this the right charger for these AGM's?

Pics of charger attached

Thanks in advance 2024-07-18 18_15_01-2024_07_18_18_14_21_2005_Supreme_Territory_6.4m_21ft_Caravan_Mozilla_Firefox.png.png

At this stage I don't think this is the right charger for AGM batteries. I'll be calling Federal Batteries tomorrow. Let you know what I find.

Flooded, Gel and AGM are all different construction types of lead acid batteries.

The manual that Dorian has posted specifies the two voltages per cell, 2.37 for lead gel and 2.43 for flooded lead acid. Multiply these by 6 and you have 14.22V charging for Gel batteries and 14.58V for flooded.  It does actually say it can be used to charge AGM batteries and my reading suggests you use the Lead Gel setting and I would set float at 13.8V.  Your battery will normally say the charging voltage on them but otherwise the manufacturer can advise you.  Dont be surprised if they take the cautionary approach and say you MAY damage your battery.

Plenty of technical data on their website but knowing the make and model of your battery would help.

Hello Tim Tim, Much appreciated you taking the time for your valuable input. Yes I saw those few words that said you could charge AGM on gel setting. I am using 2 100 anp hour agm batteries. Thank you
