Mazda BT 50 UN 2011 - Clutch replacement

Hi, I have a 2011 Mazda BT 50 3.0L 4x4 for towing an 18.6 ft van (2650 Kg max). Looking at a clutch replacement and am seeking any advise from someone who has had it done with this model.  Not sure whether to go on Dual or single mass. Thanks in anticipation of some feedback.

Dual mass flywheels are usually tuned to particular engines that need them to reduce harshness & vibrations, I would think putting one in a 2011 diesel would not be worth the extra cost, they also cannot be reconditioned because of their design, you would gain some more smoothness in the drive line but not much else, JODA.

Agent, I have a 2010 Ranger and tow a similar weight van. It has 290,000k on the clock and still on the origional clutch, I have had a few discussions with mechanics about Dual Mass V Single Mass of which agree single mass is better, but it has more vibration at idle.

@75 I think what I have is my forever vehicle, and I have not made the final decision which clutch to go with but the basic difference  in cost is about $600-800 dearer for a DM Clutch, which ever one I choose I will be buying one soon.

If it was originally built with a dual mass fly-wheel I would replace with same even if it is a bit dearer. the cars manufacturer used that style for a reason. I have read many stories off people replacing there dual mass with a single mass only to have it taken back out a couple of weeks later.

That model had a single mass flywheel, if you want a better clutch for towing get some info on a TWIN PLATE clutch,

Guru, that's is a good run from your clutch.  One shop told me 120,000K's was the max to expect and that my 162,000K was exceptional. Good to get feedback from an owner, thanks.
