A Good Time to purchase Engine Oil and Injector Cleaner

I have access to a Supercheap Trade Account that provides a very good discount compared to another auto parts supplier who advertisers on TV in SA

I compared their prices in store with Autobarn, that I had checked out on the Web and found that for our Yaris, their 6L engine oil at retail price was $30 dearer, our Landcruiser 10L oil was $30 dearer and our Mercedes Benz 10L Sprinter oil was $20 dearer than Autobarns Specials for the same brand/same oil.

On the off chance, I asked  SC to price check Nulon Diesel Injector cleaner that I use for both Diesel engines. Autobarn special price $4.99, SC was $20.99. Supercheap matched AB prices with a further reduction of 50c on each item. ABs Nulon Injector Cleaner was below SCs buy price.

If you need oil or injector cleaner in the future now maybe a good time to purchase.

I do not have a trade account with Autobarn and do not intend to get one, but will continue with SC and price match when appropriate

Hi Peter,
I have been using Chemtech Diesel Power since the early 80s just after we bought our MQ Patrol after seeing a demonstration put on by the then Castrol, John Deer, Subaru dealer in Ceduna, SA. He used other well-known fuel additives as comparisons.

After moving up here to Townsville & having the injectors serviced every 140,000 kms, I was asked what I had done to ensure they were so clean. That's now history through our other two Patrols.

Now that we have the D-Max with a DPF, I saw a post on an Isuzu Forum that suggested using a fuel additive was beneficial in keeping the DPF clean. And on the recent "Black Friday" sales, it was interesting to compare the prices of this Chemtech product from the "Big 3" retailers. A-Barn was dearer, followed by Repco with Supercheap running out the cheapest. Mind you I have bought other products from the other suppliers as they were cheaper at the time. What gives me the gripes is the difference between the three companies "points" operations to keep us coming in to buy ......!

Hi Warren, am now hooked on additives after seening a demo on a similar product

Now use Nulon Additives in engine oil, gearboxes, diffs and transfer case. Funningly enough do not use any in SWMBO's Petrol Yaris
