Ive read that water can wick in and up between these cladding joints. Ive noticed some peeling of the laminate (which is on ply) internally on the bottom corner of this rear window. Is the problem most likely where the panels join and do I need to go along and press in some silicone along these joins ? Do you think it will solve it ? I dont see any problems higher up, so Im guessing its not the top j mould. Not even sure how to take off a j mould to be honest. Any advice appreciated. Thanks
If you have peeling of the veneer at the bottom corner of the window then that would suggest to me that the leak is between the window frame and cladding. It is highly unlikely that capillary action has caused water to rise vertically up through the cladding overlap.
It will not be in the J mould at the top either otherwise your internal cladding at the top will have absorbed the moisture and the veneer would have separated there with also the possibility of mould.
Rather than trying to seal something which in all probability is not the cause, I would do a thorough investigation and remove the window. You may then be able to see where the water is tracking.
Can you take some photo of the inside showing exactly where the veneer is separating in relation to the window.

Thanks for the advice. I did just that, removed the inside panel, had the mrs run hose on outside and saw the tiniest of drops on side near bottom. It was easy to then clean and reseal outside, water tested again and all good. Checked all others, all good. Cheers
