Satlink WS-6909 no longer shows picture

I have a Satlink WS-6909. I recently went to use it, changing nothing since the last time I successfully used it.

When I select the various TV stations listed, they come up as either encrypted for 7, 9 and 10 or as no signal For Aljazera.

If I search for channels, the ABC and SBS channels also show up but are not saved in the channel list so are not selectable.

If I choose an encoded signal, the signal intensity and quality meters work and the unit is useable but with no sound or picture.

There is one radio station that works with sound and the signal meters work, making it the best option that I can come up with.

I am hoping that someone can tell me how to get the ABC, SBS and Aljazera back.

There was a time when Al Jezeera was a capable and accurate news source, probably when it had a lot of ex BBC people working for it.

Today it is little more than the publicity arm of Hamas.

Try a full reset to factory defaults is the best I can offer - better still... buy some books.

I think I will quit while I am ahead. I can use the meter and get a radio station when lined up. My initial post is incorrect, there are no SBS or ABC TV stations coming up in the search.

Don't know if this will help you but I've seen reports that Optus had changed some parameters that has caused things to not pick up the signal. Once these changes are implemented into a sat finder it picks them back up. What exactly the changes are I can't remember so do some searching on the setup for Optus into your meter and change those settings. Good luck.

Think the change was to do with the frequency setting in the meter. It should read 11804.

I have tried changing frequencies but nothing seems to work. I can pick up one free radio station that has horizontal polarisation but nothing with vertical polarisation. The box worked less than a year ago but there are no recent posts that I can find about this satellite receiver. As said, I can find the satellite using the radio station so that will do for now.
