i have a 2amp battery draw when ther is no sun. it appears that it is on the solar panel curcuit. is it possible that the panels have a  problem. when the suns out there is no draw.

Sounds like you need a diode if the panel is connected directly to the battery.

If the panel is connected via a controller, there shouldn't be any reverse current.

To be a fault in the solar panel circuit, if you have a 2A draw from you battery when there is no sun then you will also be getting a draw from your batteries during the night.  My first question would be is how did you determined it is from the solar panel circuit?  What solar controller do you have (i hope you have one) and are your loads running through the load terminals on the solar controller or are they running directly from your battery?  where are you reading that 2A are being drawn from your battery?

It could possibly be a fault in your solar controller allowing the solar panels to drain the battery when there is no light, or a parasitic draw but we will need more detail to establish the issue.

First step, when you see the draw, disconnect your solar panels and if it disappears then it is your solar controller.  If it remains then something else is drawing power.  Do you run an inverter?

Good luck

Tim
