Looking for a new van and have seen a La Vista. Haven't heard or seen one before but liked the layout .does anybody have one or know about them. We were impressed that they had the batteries in boxes outside the van and also all the electrics were in behind a door on the outside and not in the cupboards which...

Hi all This may sound way dumb to some of you BUT can the loo be emptied in a normal toilet, or drop dunny, that you often see at roadside stops? We have been attending caravan parks every 2 days just to empty the loo, due to the lack of dump sites in our path. As I said, sounds dumb but I would prefer to keep the r...

We are in WA and are in the midst of converting a 1999 Toyota Coaster bus into a motorhome, and we are having trouble getting it insured, simply because we have done most of the conversion ourselves - cupboards, LED's, sink, bed. Of course we will get the stove done professionally, but the insurance co...

As a very part time GN. Still working (sorry I didn't mean to swear), living at home base, and only taking to the road occasionally, and even then only around South Oz. Would it be worth my while joining the CMCA? I am a "Top Tourist" member and a "Premium RAA" member (RACV, RACQ, et...

I am thinking of taking a trip around the Sth.Gippsland area of Victoria and I happened to look up the RACV Resort site in Inverloch to check their current pricing. As of 1st July '14, they want $40 for members or $50 for non-members per night for a basic site. This goes up in the shoulder season and pea...

Just back home from an aborted trip to Queensland for the winter. Illness has caused us to cut it short and now we must sell our Coaster. Is there anywhere to place an advertisement on this site or can others suggest the best way to sell it? Happy travels you lucky people!

During the last week someone mentioned that they have a "truckers book" of some sort for rest stops. I have not been able to find it by searching as I can't remember any details of "key words". Anyone help please? Aussie Paul.

Is there a trick to having an animated GIF as an avatar? I've seen a couple of animated avatars but my new avatar is only displaying a static image, which works as intended when loaded into Internet Explorer as a file, but not on the forum - either in IE or my usual browser, Firefox.

I am a new member hoping to get some feed back on a caravan I found on the caravancampingsales.com.au site, it's a 2012 Beyond The Hawksbury priced at $49,990. An artical on the front page of the Bowen Independant wants to grab the nomads bucks by offering cheap camping despite objections from the C/P onwers, it's states that with all the nomads passing through they are missing out on this cash register. I will try and get a copy tomoz and post a link.
