Coober Pedy
(Preview)
Did the tour today - really worth it as we were taken right in to the mining areas - but not allowed to put a foot outside the van! Loads of information as well. Then on to Breakaways - wow!!!! The colours are stunning. Pity we cannot free camp there. Need a permit to go to the area. On across an extremely dry...

Caravan Disc Brakes
(Preview)
Since retiring from full time work last year, my wife and I have started researching the purchase of a new caravan. We're leaning towards a tandem axle offroad van as we like the idea of free camping and expect to purchase a new unit later this year. I'm puzzled about the apparently low usage of disc brak...

Need New Batteries?
(Preview)
Just thought I would let you all know that I bought a new cranking battery recently for 'The Cave' (my Hino motorhome) and found that Auto Pro at Tuncurry, NSW has very competitively priced bats - I paid just $165 for my new cranking battery (N70) compared to $279 for my previous purchase. They seem to b...

Do we really need a toilet and shower
(Preview)
Hi
We are wanting to buy a van. We would like to start off slowly and do 2 and 3 week trips, then slowly build up to the big one.
We have been looking at vans but they are all very expensive.
There are some on Internet with no shower and toilet which look ok.
Do we really need a shower and toilet to travel o...

tyres goodrich ATKO
(Preview)
It's time again to replace tyres. I have been told goodrich ATKO are the way to go but they look fairly chunky to me and I am concerned about road noise. Almost all our driving is on good roads. Does anyone have any comment on these or other tyres. They are about $400 each.

Before you all PM me yelling at me for this long update, I apologise in advance but so much to pass on, sorry all. As I said last week I was leaving Greens Lake Tuesday April 2 and me and myself didn't argue, they must have wanted to get under way as well. I think the three of us want to get to the warmer climate...
