We recently took the van down to the North Head camping ground (about a 20 minute drive from home), originally planning to spend 3 or 4 days there, but it's such a great spot, surf beach one side, river on the other side, we fini...

Trying to find a cabin in Parkes, NSW is a bit of a challenge. Wherever there's mining there are no beds. However the park that couldn't accommodate me referred me to a cabin park which could. I was on my way home from Qld again. I'd settled in for my stay when a motor bike pulled up by my car. I was th...

We have been told by one trailer builder that we have to have a tandem axle trailer as a single axle one will bounce around too much and snap the frame. Is this right or not....

Advice for an absolute newbie

Hi I'm such a newbie that my partner and I don't even head to hit the road until early next year. We're at the stage of vehicle browsing (motorhome). Since we are planning to do as much free camping as possible I have three basic questions. 1. Where can you top up water tanks- do garages allow you to do this...

Can you stop at these for a shower and rest? Maybe even a nights sleep? While driving the truck I sometimes refuel at large BP servos and see plenty of trailers parked up waiting for a prime mover to hitch up and take it away. If it's ok for a long haul driver to use the facilities why not a caravan GN? Mos...
