Blew all the lines and jets out with compressed air, pressed the lever, washers operated for about 10 seconds and then lots of algae or scum came out and they stopped....

Hi All, I have carefully fitted a new anode and a new 240 volt electric element after getting rid of all the sludge etc. Now the gas ignites, burns/roars for a few seconds then goes out!!! Thoughts please? Aussie Paul.
