Every Waeco owner will say Waeco. Every Engel owner will say Engel.
Both are good quality products. The Waeco uses a Danfos compressor which is common to virtually every brand except Engel who use their own. The smaller Engels draw lower amps, but possibly need higher duty cycles, so I doubt that size for size they are much different in total consumption.
The bigger it is, the more power it will use (assuming the same insulation quality).
another one which we had to travel around australia as an extra was the evacool which is a fridge and a freezer which was a great asset they also have a danfoss compresser we found it to be great ,,,just a thought...max and carol
Hi Hope you didn't go for the Waeco - we got rid of ours after five trips south to the electricians to replace warped lid (three times), rusty screws, thermostat and eventually the motherboard. Eventually we drove to Brisbane to the factory to get it fixed to find out that it was sold to us as a new fridge but was really a reconditioned on from the factory. Can't say that we had a good experience with Waeco. They eventually fixed it properly. Eventually we went back to our first choice, which we should have purchased, the Trailblazer - stainless steel, easy to run and will float - long story we won't go there. Needless to say we are happy with the Trailblazer manufactured in Brisbane. Marg and Ron
