Mercedes Sprinter

Hi

Does anyone have any info about Mercedes Sprinter. I am looking to buy a used 2-3 year old ex-rental Mercedes Sprinter campervan and wondered if anyone could tell me how they run and the possible cost of repairs etc. Thank you. Maxijj

hi maxijj,

I have owned two long wheelbase dual wheel sprinters both bought new. My major expense with both of them has been replacing the brake pads and rotors which wear very quickly-cost about $600, although i do mainly city driving with a lot of stop start. I have also driven all brands of large vans such as iveco fiat and transit, the Sprinter is by far the most comfortable powerful and quiet of them all. Hope this helps.

In the last year I have as part of my job used a Mercedes Sprinter to travel to towns in the South West W.A. I have to say that I have had nothing but trouble with it, the indicators have failed to work, which has happened numerous times and it's been "fixed" each time, plus a complete electrical failure. I know anyone could have this bad luck but it has put me off them - so I hope you have better luck.
