WOOFERs is a term used to describe "willing workers on organic farms" - generally it applies to young backpackers who, because of lack of money and experience, come to a farm, work four to six hours per day with two days off per week, in exchange for board and lodgings., with a minimum stay of two days and nights. As they don't usually have transport it is expected that you collect them from the bus and ensure that they meet the bus leaving the town. There is a website for WOOFERs in Australia which you can register with, if you are able to work for the 4 to 6 hours per day.
With Grey Nomad WOOFERS, they usually have their own self sufficient accomodation, and look after their own food, but get free camping in return for helping with daily light chores on the farm.  (about an hour a day) I realise that Grey Nomads cannot do the longer hours weeding etc, but they may assist in other ways which they younger people cannot - watering gardens, cooking, sewing, advice on their trade, small handyman jobs, assist us when we need a second hand - the list is endless. Hope this explains it. I don't know of other places that offer Grey Nomad WOOFERS camping, but it is an interesting concept that could just catch on!If you get up to Far North Qld, let us know.
