Basil & Davo too much.

It is a shame that you two guys have to prop up this site, and your efforts must be commended, and the info put forward. It maybe time to back off a little and see if it deserves to survive as unfortunately the Davo annd Basil show is a little boring. Not to be offensive, but a wake up call.hmm

this forum will not die as long as travellers like us keep it going, if only one was to keep up an input and the forum survives, I am happy, going by the last assesment we have in excess of 300 people looking in to "the basil and dave show" never mind the solos section, if you find it boring and choose to knock and only place two listings in the last 2 months then that is your choice, as for being boring (1) nobody likes a boring knocker who just denounces everthing and contributes nothing (2) there are a lot of websites out there, why choose one that you dont like DUHHHHH! (3) why let a perfectly good site die just because of one whom, does not contribute, probably does not travel and also needs to get a life, I dont know you and you dont know me, however if we met at a camp site one arvo I am sure we would get on like a house on fire, if me and basil must keep the forum going then hey count me in, and my old mate bas, well I bet he aint going nowhere. lot of people here that I am proud to call freind, Oh and have you looked at the ammount of newbies lately, and also the lookers, boring, how does that song go "I dont think so" if you wish it to die then hey in your eyes it can, take it off your browser settings or favourite list and POOF it's gone, nobody forces you in here and we wouldnt keep you away from something important, pub perhaps, telly probably, me, the great outdoors always, travel, travel, and then travel the three important things in my life, after family, I never have understood "knockers" if you dont like the input, then input some of your own thoughts that is why (I think) we are here, you dont want to talk, hey, your choice, dont knock, try contributing, I await with baited breath other peoples thoughts hmm

G'day Dave,

Well said, I for one thank you and Basil as a lot of us have only a little to contribute to the forum but we do read the messages and pick up a lot of good tips along the way.

Best Regards and Safe Travelling
John

I think this forum is very interesting and I really enjoy Basil and Davo's humorous, interesting and info-filled posts.  I think that as long as they are happy to keep writing - more power to them!

They say walking stops you from going senile and losing the plot ,so does engaging with others. even if only via cyber space.

Personally it makes very little difference who writes to the forum it all makes for gaining an alternative point of view and provides the traveler or intending traveler with a source of information not readily available from the glossy mags. There's not many places where you can jump on the net and ask questions or read first hand reports on a wide variety of subjects related to a nomadic lifestyle like ours

Keep writing Basil and Dave I'm hearing ya

I'm wounded, not by your comments, but the Crows lost and although at Hedland with not much choice of television I admit I watched it. Suspecting your a Power supporter it would account for your attitude to other's comments and the continual life story of your experiences. Sorry about this bit of sarcasm bit if you review my comments carefully I didn't resort to it until now. Don't spill your whiskey on the keyboard it could stifle your style. Bye, this is my last post for awhile as we have got quite alot to travel yet and see. It's beautiful country up here especially around Millstream and Karratha, but although Hedland was a shocker the caravan park here is nice. Back to Karratha soon and we are enjoying working in the park and dealing with the permanents and the tourists alike.yawn

I too am not happy about the loss of our premiership chances (crows) having met quite a few of them in person, the roo came not far from here, I didnt start this crap and I will make this my final statement in this part of it as it is becoming very droll, and becoming personal, whiskey on the keyboard, too expensive for that, prefer to drink it around a fire with freinds, dont drink much when I am home, too many responsibilities, travel experiences, you mock me about my travel, jeez you sound like my nieces 3 year old boy, dont be bloody jealous, australia is a big country, Basil is a smarter man than I to ignore such dribble in the first place, I still look forward to having a drink with you around a fire where we can debate the merits of actually travelling or just mocking those that do and tell the tales, anyway glad to hear you are enjoying running the park at karatha, better man than I, tried it didnt like the long termers, up around there is a beatifull part of our great country.
