My 18yr old son wants to be a jackeroo,. can anyone advise how to locate work out on stations,doesn't matter what state its in.
He has no experience but is fit and is a fast learner.

any information would be appreciated.

Did you see this one? Says some experience, but not what that may mean. If your son is a quick learner and they are short on applicants it may be enough to get him .

I will put a link at the bottom, but there is a school in Emerald, Qld, for just that. I started to search it down, but found this link, which you may wish to explore.

I have met the young people from the Emerald College, it is unisex. I came away with a very good opinion of their maturity. I can find out more if you like.

Thanks for the advice.
Son rang up this morning he has interview for Army on 1st Oct. Being ex military myself I think this is a better option , might install a bit of discipline into him.
Will keep in mind your advice in case he changes his mind ( was accepted 12 months ago but didnt take it up) or he doesn't get in.

I agree fully with the forces option, the jackaroo lifestyle can be harsh, I have heard a lot of bad stories, a lot of good ones as well, good choice I think, he will come back a man, and the comraderie is beyond compare
