Hi Keith,
FYI, this forum is hosted by a third party, Sparklit, and they are quite particular about swearing so they have created a system (which is sometimes overzealous) which puts an asterix in place of any suspicious words. The result is that if any 'dodgy' words are part of a bigger word those letters get replaced by an asterix. The way around it is to put a space between the letters. For example, if you wanted to talk about ****lebiddy caves, you would type C o c k l e b i d d y caves.

Hi Keith.
If this is the unit that you are considering,there are a couple of points in their FAQs that you might note.

1. They need a 15A 240V supply. That is usually what Caravans are fitted with, but there will be almost noting left for anything else as it draws up to 13.2A. This means that if you are running other stuff that draws just 2 or 3 Amps, the power is likely to drop out via the circuit breaker if you turn on the tap.
2. The hot water flow rate is only 2.5 litres per minute. Not much.
3. You must have a pressurised water supply. It won't work from a manual pump.

It is not a product that I would buy or use, but it depends on what you want.

Hi Peter,
That's excellent advice Peter. Hadn't thought about the power problem. Was aware of the flow rate but was prepared to put up with that as it would take at least that to boil 2.5 litres in a kettle. I guess that as long as you are aware of the power problem you can always make sure that you don't turn any appliance on that might push the current over the top and trip the breaker. Will have to think further before buying I think.

Actually I have been roaring with laughter at myself because I couldn't figure how the words 'hot water' could be offensive. Then I figured what the letters spelt that the asterisks represented. Bit slow, this old Kiwi girl!

I did look at these a while ago and you are all right the power draw would not make them really suitable.... There are some instantaneous LPG water heaters around for showering etc but they cost around the $300 mark.....
