AH!!!! HAH!!!! so I was not the only one to see this damn eco vandal in action, I immediately sent off a very strong worded complaint email to sbs, who assured me that the paper was in fact placed in a bin, to which I replied "WHAT BIN!!!. I have travelled that road and I can assure all and sundry there is no bins out there"!!!, I have also fired off an email to our local member stating an official complaint, I can only assume that hundreds if not thousands of veiwers watched and would think that behaviour funny all one has to do is to dig a shallow hole, ablutions finished, fill hole, cover with rocks, even a moron can do that, a bit like the instructions on the american rocket launcher "aim at enemy"

this is the letter I sent off

dear sir/madam,

I would like to lodge a complaint about the a section of content on the show titled "top gear".

in this particular program, airing in south Australia last night, Monday the 3 of November 2008, a particular segment of four wheel driving across a dirt road was shown, in this segment it showed an incident of a person getting out of bed ( I think) and in the background shot it had another person undoing his trousers, squatting and apparently defecating, upon completion of said task, wiped his backside with toilet paper threw it away and carried on his journey.

I am a member of the caravan and motor home club of Australia, I am also a member of the grey nomads of Australia I am also a very keen traveler and have travelled this particular road many times and reveled in it's pristine beauty and wilderness.

my complaint is that this two bit clown left his toilet paper (apparently soiled) to blow willy nilly through our wilderness, we as recreational groups do everything that is in our power to keep our country unsullied by this stupid and Neanderthal type behavior, your actions by allowing this idiot to complete the task (letting it be aired as is) has set our cause back years, whether he carried out the act or not is beside the point, whether he cleaned it up afterwards is not the point, whether it was done in jest is not the point.

do you see MY point, it aired as it was done, monkey see monkey do, hundreds of clowns out there are now going to be doing exactly the same thing that your show showed them. we advocate taking a shovel and disposing of our waste as deep as is necessary, or we carry it out with us, so as not to sully our wilderness. you want to make a program about our great country, fantastic, but do it with respect for the country, we have enough clowns out there now doing stupid things without your program showing them how to do the wrong thing.

Nice one Dave and well said.I wondered if I was a lone spotter.Then I read your post and realised that as you said a whole heap of other folk would have seen the incident.I did not think that the reference to Heather Mills one leg was in good taste.Cheers Ibbo.

fully agree, the aussie version of top gear is actually very childish, they seem to be trying to apeal to the yobbo more than anyone else, the first thing they do with a high priced motor vehicle is thrash the daylights out of it.

reference to heather mills, absolutely in bad taste, I had forgotten about that, the disabled people of australia should take that up

Well there ya go.
I had never watched top gear before and as the telle shows in vic. were very poor i read the blurp in the telle progam page and there was the outback mentioned so eyes lite up. and strewth there was a bare arse and the dunny roll. well im no toff but like 100 yards away and a good shovel would be a better look i have spent a fair bit of time arround the Alice area and it dosent need some white arsed fool doing what he did no more Top [bottom] Gear for davo

Dont worry guys,
When I e-mailed SBS about how 'awful' the Oz Top Gear was, they said 'dont worry, a new series of the UK version was to start in late November or thereabouts'.

gday mike, good to see another new face, well I didnt think much of the aussie style of top gear but didnt mind the uk one, glad to see they are going to take it off!!!

Like everybody i think Oz Top Gear is an absolute load of rubbish. does no compare to the Brit version, thank god the series is ending and the "real" version is coming back.

I too expressed my disappointment to SBS, and even got a reply!!

gday to you paul and welcome be upon you, if enough of us send in complaints then maybe they will pull their head in, I dont mind them destryoying $100,000 motorcars, why I dont know, but leave paper all over the place, asking for trouble!!!
