My Viscount regency poptop has an unusual trailer hitch it has a normal release type handle but there is also a button type thingo that u have to depress to allow release. The coupling seems fine with the one tow [after buying] are these a common set up and trouble free. I cant detect a brand name Dave D
I think I know the type of hitch that you have, I have the same on "squeeky" the button that you depress can be locked by means of a small padlock going through a loop at the base
if it is this type then I can see no problem, we have towed "squeeky" all around aust. and not a moments problem with it
could you photograph it to see if it is the same just to be on the safe side
I received your email Dave and assumed that you would not mind me placing it here fo you, the hitch is nothing like mine
Dave would like to know if this type of hitch is (1) common (2) reliable and if any one else has seen it, or knows anything about it!!

their not very good nor are the override brakes. I replaced the brakes with electric and fitted a better tow hitch. They wear out in the pivot and are not designed to take of the bitumen that was my old van was a good van though.
