Tow Vehicle for 5th Wheelers under 4500kg

Hi there I am looking at purchasing a 30ft Rockwood Ultra Lite and am looking for tow vehicle suggestions.  Tare weight is 2600kg and the GVM is 3693kg.
Would prefer something like a Toyota Landcruiser, Nissan Patrol or Holden Rodeo rather than Iveco or Isuzu truck.  After alot of research, there are some conflicting specs out there, any thoughts.  Thanks  BernieG

g'day bernieg and welcome to the forum, dont know too much about the specs of the relative tow vehicles but what we are seeing a lot of out there now is the toyota hi-lux also nissans not cruisers or patrols but their little brothers, with tray top and turntable adapter placed on that, they seem a very capable tow vehicle, the iveco apparently have trouble with oil seals and the general build quality is not too flash, not my words but the owners words

Hi Bernie,

I was considering a 5th-wheeler a year or so ago and did some homework on tow vehicles and the Nissan Navara came out as a) completely suitable for the job and b) the best value for money of the alternatives I checked. For what it's worth, may be worth considering.

All the best

Mike

fully agree with that, we see quite a few of them running quite happily along pulling these fifth wheelers

what one must remember is that gone are the days of the little baby 2.8 ltr diesel, most of these "little" brothers are now beefed up with a full size v6 and a "mad as hell and aint gonna take it no more" gearbox. making the "smaller" ones more than suitable to tow the fifth wheeler, do a little research into towing capacitys, go into a nissan/toyota/holden dealer and kick some tyres, ask some questions, get some pamphlets and spend an enjoyable afternoon comparing, end of the day you will be more knowledgeble and be able to make a comparison based on your new found knowledge

and Mike, your opinion is worth just as much, if not more than the next fellers and we are glad to have it
