Just to say hello

We are almost so far that we are on the road  as grey nomads. both retired last year. Already did some short trips, to try our T-Van. Anybody else who is traveling with a T-Van? We are thinking to go first to Victoria and than slowly towards W.A. Like this website and read all the stories.
take Care. Maybe we meet somewere ,some day.
Anneke

well howdy doody there anneke and welcome to the forum, doesnt matter where you go, just as long as you go, we have a couple of tvan owners in here and I am sure, if prodded enough, they will talk to you, they are a funny bunch, they will read but not post, oh well to each his/her own

there is plenty of advice (recent) about western australia, I would be having a nose at the previous posts, a lot of good stuff from good people, its been about 5 - 8 years since we went around aus. the last time and I guess things have changed since then

congratulations on your retirement and I hope it is very long and very enjoyable for the two of you, as I have said before "LIFE BEGINS"

Have to be back at work on July 6 so plenty of time to take it all in slooooowly.

Welcome Anneke,

My trouble and strife and myslef also live in the Blue Mountains.

I also, before retiring worked with a person by the name of Rudy.

Wonder if its the same person????

Without giving too much away the surname would not commence with a "H" would it?

Would be a bit scary if it did smile.gif

Anyways, this is a great forum and you will enjoy it immensly.

Take care and stay well

Peter

My new years resolution was to get healthy, loose 5 kilo's, give up smoking

None of which is happening. Reverted to plan B, when we hit the road, will walk more, smoke less, we will see.

I can see happy hour's being the killer tho.

Goal is to see my feet again LOL

giving up the fags, I tell ya what it aint easy, we did it about 5 years ago best thing we ever did, but as you say happy hour is a killer and that cup of coffee is just not the same without a fag

but it will be the best thing you ever did, best time to do it is right now just before you take off on your trip, the secret is to keep the mind occupied, get the patches now and make a fair dinkum effort, you wont regret it

A couple of years ago I was in St Louis for a training course. On the first break, first day I asked the guys where I could have a fag. Well, the looks I got, realising what i had said I explained I meant a smoke. I was told in no uncertain terms 'we don't use that word around here"
that night after a few beers we had a good laugh about it.

Now u smokers wont believe this but from 70 a day to zero in a flash.
Had to go to the docs for a sore toe or sumpin and while there i asked about quitting. Weeeeeeeeeeel he stuck a neddle thingo in my ear and told me to press it when i felt like a butt and would u believe i havent had a fag since thats about 15 years now. But not saying i couldnt go back to them.  And Gary before giving up i could just see donger on a good day  but now standing on a mirror just works    think about it hehe
