Tales from the Rooster

Hi everyone and belated happy New Year.

We have been away in NZ for a couple of weeks and I must say I was amazed at the beauty and variety found there.

Having spent a few days in Auckland around the notrth shore the ocean scenery is very spectacular.

We then travelled to the Corromandel Penninsula which is part of the Huaraki Gulf protecting the approach to Auckland harbour from the Pacific Ocean -nothing short of majestic I tell you.

We finished off with a few days in the Sth Island and a view of Mt Cook from Lake Tekapo - all in glorious sunshine - 16 days in all weather low/mid 20's all the way,

The wild flowers and snow topped peaks were a highlight and I think I could spend a few months travcelling there no worries

Maybe something other nomads might consider

absolutely fantastic Mike great shots, I love the middle one, a great looking couple

we as yet haven't jumped the gutter but intend to one day, we have been told the scenery must be seen to be believed, particularly the south island, they tell me the north island is for nightlife and great swags of people but the south is for nature

Hi dave

Yes the scenery is spectacular and I am looking to compare as I travel around Oz in due course.

Also apologies to all solo's -I thought I was loading up on the main board.

Now you have made me homesick!! All I have seen for the last couple of days is brown grass, dried lakes and gum trees!!
Nah, it is what I expected and I'll put on a post!
