New to the Forum

Hi Everyone,
This is an introductory posting.
Darryl and I purchased a campertrailer last September and have been on a couple of camping trips since then.  We are new to this whole experience and are getting ready to join all of the other nomads around the country.  We still have a lot to learn and we hope that by being apart of this forum that we will learn lots more.  We are not afraid to ask questions so we hope we won't outdo our welcome smile

Greetings and felicitations.

The more the merrier, can't have a party unless you've got plenty of people. Put in a nice juicy post with a picture of your rig, where you've been, what you plan to do etc.

Welcome Barbara & Darryl,

We're not afraid to ask questions on here either ..................... just afraid to look at some of the answers!!!   ha ha

But seriously,  we think this is the most friendly, helpful and down-to-earth camping / caravanning site in Australia...... and what's more it comes complete with it's very own unique sense of humour...... and where would we be without that ???

well have a look at you pair, two words to say about that setup, pretty bloody flash, hang on thats three, let me see 1, 2, 3, yep definately three, BUGGA!!!!!!!!

I remember a long time ago when I was only a little newbie, I got a two inch lift, fair up the coit when my old man found me smoking, that hurt more than the alterations to the dodge I'll bet

how do you get on with the fuel side of things

Hi Dave,
On our last trip towing the camper we averaged 13.7 litres per 100km. Not too bad for a V6.

I would say thats pretty good for not only a v6 but a 4wd as well, what do you reckon the camper would weigh in at, my guess fully loaded about what, 550 -600 kilo's

sssshhhhh!!! dont tell everybody that, hell if word got out that it was simple to go camping what would I do, nobody would have any questions, god, think before you speak please!!!

it is of course very difficult and complex to go anywhere, theres power to consider and letters to claim and how long things will last, god it's so complex I advise everybody to stay at home........

RE: New to the Forum - Barb and Daz

Hi all,
thought I would give you a little more of an introduction - because I realise that the original was as bit light on for information smile  Sorry confuse

Barb is a wife, mother, grandmother, midwife and is into most types of craft. patchwork, quilting, scrap-booking, floral punch craft, card making, cross stitch, crochet and knitting.  I also like reading and riding a bicycle.  I grew up in country NSW but have been living in cities whilst with the RAAF biggrin  Barb also suffers from Meniere's Disease and is learning to manage it cry
Are there any other nomad's who suffer from this dreadful thing???? confuse

Darryl is a ex-RAAF chef (in semi-retirement smile), likes fishing, reading, computer games and bicycle riding. Darryl grew up in various towns throughout NSW prior to joing the RAAF.  In the 24 years he was in the RAAF - we have lived in most states of Australia.  We have lived in SE Queensland since 1998 and love our current abode in Victoria Point.

We have two children and three grandchilden.  Our daughter and her family live near Beaudesert Qld and our son has just moved to the UK for two years.  We have two four-legged sons (dogs) who we would love to take on the road with us - but know they would drive others nutty with their barking at those going past (regardless of the training programmes hmm ).

We are currently planning a trip from Vic. Point to Port Macquarie, Maitland, Liverpool, Fitzroy falls, Murramarang National Park, Bournda National Park, Kosciouszko (Mt Selwyn), Wagga Wagga, Wantabadgery, Cowra, Dubbo, Bellata, Lake Coolmunda and Home.  Going to be away for a month.  wink  This will be our first BIG trip with the camper and will give us an idea of what we don't need no or what we have forgotten biggrin

Hope this helps others get to know us. smile

I just had a scary sight, you have that same horrendous growth on your lower facial area as another of our members, jeez I hope it doesnt spread

wait a minute heres a thought, (shut up I do have them occasionally) what if we all grow these things (females included, wouldnt want to exclude them out of it) we could be easily recognised anywhere
